Putting the serious in serious fun.
Creating learning experiences you know you can count on.
At ExploreLearning, we believe that all students can achieve success in math and science when educators have the right tools. Our products use research-proven, evidence-based strategies to support optimal ways for all students to learn. Our innovative co-design and research program, the ExploreLearning Collab Crew, ensures that student and teacher voices are central to product development and improvement.
Continual efficacy research conducted with district partners supports outcomes-based decision-making, providing accountability and shared insight into our products’ impacts on student learning and learning outcomes. Together, this is how we deliver solutions that are as effective as they are fun.
Explore our range of research that meets ESSA Tiers of evidence across all our STEM Solutions. Conducted by third-party organizations and with partner districts, these real-life classroom results provide unbiased and rigorous evidence of what works.
Featured Efficacy Research
Frax and Reflex Power Math Achievement Gains
In a large suburban Florida school district, students who used Reflex and Frax had statistically larger math score gains on i-Ready Diagnostic math assessments compared to non-users. Across all students, Reflex and Frax users were 60% more likely to meet or exceed typical growth goals and 2x more likely to meet or exceed aspirational stretch growth goals. Research Base
Our programs are carefully designed using research-proven instructional methods to enhance student understanding. Our white papers and logic models are designed to meet Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) Tier 4 evidence criteria to give you the confidence that fidelity implementation will lead to positive student outcomes.
Internal Research and Reports
We regularly engage with schools and districts to evaluate their implementation and assess program impact as part of our Partners in Learning program. These Partner reports provide a base of evidence that includes a variety of educational contexts, student demographics, and outcome measures.
We also engage in product testing and efficacy research with teachers and district administrators from our co-design program, the ExploreLearning Collab Crew. Other internally created reports include annual product usage reports, correlational reports of in-product metrics, and ESSA-aligned research briefs conducted by our research team.
Third-Party Evaluations
External, third-party evaluations provide an unbiased assessment of the efficacy of our programs. There are currently more than 18 independent studies featuring ExploreLearning products conducted by respected organizations such as LearnPlatform and McREL and European and U.S. universities, including the University of Georgia and the University of Pennsylvania.
Published Reports
Peer-reviewed reports are those that have been carefully evaluated by experts in the field and published in scientific journals and conference proceedings. More than 16 published reports have been produced over the past ten years across Asia, Europe, and the U.S., at universities such as the University of Virginia, Columbia University, and the Ohio State University, establishing us as evidence-based leaders in the field of STEM educational technology.
This research demonstrates the efficacy of our products using advanced scientific and statistical tests and provides high levels of confidence in our products’ abilities to support educational outcomes.
Everybody's Talking
“I am so thankful for Reflex. It has reached many students who did not particularly enjoy math. I have one student who did not like multiplication and did poorly on her fluency tests, but now she’s excelling on them.”
- Reflex Teacher, Diocese of Monterey, CA“Science4Us is a huge resource for my classroom. I love to see how the videos, songs and activities encourage students to think in new ways about the things they experience. My students look forward to science time every day!”
- Science4Us Teacher, Advance Learning Academy, FL“Gizmos STEM Cases improve students’ content knowledge and critical thinking ability. The kids are putting more thought into things and they’re asking better questions.”
- Gizmos Director of Science, Gwinnett County Public Schools, GA“Frax has helped students tremendously in their math classes. Those who have completed all the missions are having success easily mastering 4th grade fraction standards which make up 1/2 of our state math assessment test.”
- Frax Teacher, Henry County School District, TN“Awesome, awesome, awesome! Reflex is by far the best program out there. All but one of my students scored within the targeted norm range on our district calculations assessment. This was an increase from 50% on the fall assessment.”
- Reflex Teacher, Stevens Point Area Public School District, WI
