ExploreLearning is honored to announce that we are a finalist for four Educators Pick Best of STEM® 2023 Awards.
The Teich Group and Catapult X announced finalists on August 8, 2023. Best of STEM Awards, the only awards program judged by STEM educators, is operated in partnership with the National Science Teaching Association ( NSTA), MCH Strategic Data, and the National Association of Biology Teachers (NABT). The awards spotlight innovative products, technologies, and services that are changing the world of STEM education.
ExploreLearning Finalist Categories
- Trailblazer: Virtual Labs Luminary: ExploreLearning Gizmos
- Trailblazer: Simulations for STEM: ExploreLearning Gizmos
- Best Innovation of 2023: ExploreLearning Frax
- Bridging the Gap: Math Intervention Resources: ExploreLearning Reflex
Educator judges evaluated all product entries and selected the finalists. Hundreds of thousands of STEM educators will vote for their favorite products. Winners will be announced on August 18, 2023.
“This year, our seasoned award judges found additional innovation and deeper content alignment with new and developing technologies,” said lead judge Annie Galvin Teich, President of The Teich Group. “Across multiple technology types, judges discovered excellence in a range of product characteristics, including alignment to standards and student engagement opportunities for what works best in classroom and lab settings.”
These finalist recognitions underscore ExploreLearning’s commitment to innovative, engaging, and standards-aligned solutions.
- Gizmos virtual simulations provide 550+ digital opportunities for students to interact with content through inquiry, exploration, and what-if experimentation. In a recent survey, 88% of teachers found that Gizmos improved student engagement and motivation. Gizmos are aligned to Next Generation Science Standards, state standards, and various textbooks and core curriculums.
- Adaptive and game-based, Frax uses the latest research and instructional methods to create a better way to learn fractions. Each Frax mission features fun challenges that build understanding while motivating students with rewards for effort and progress. The latest research, determined by an independent review to meet the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) Tier 2 rating for evidence-based interventions, found that elementary students using Frax had significantly larger academic growth in math than non-users.
- Reflex is the most effective system for mastering basic facts in addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. The program continuously monitors each student’s math performance to help students break through barriers at their own pace. A new study found that across all three achievement levels, students who used Reflex and Frax experienced larger score gains, with the most academically at-risk experiencing even more significant growth.
